Had Lessons a Few Years Ago - Feeling Rusty / Lost Confidence

This category is for those who have previous riding experience but have been away from the sport for a period of time and are feeling a little rusty or have lost some confidence. Here at Kingsmead we have some great facilities which can help you get back into the sport and to regain your confidence. If you are looking for a gentle way back in to riding, we have Lane Rides which are led rides conducted on our bridleway - a calm and peaceful setting, and for those feeling a little more confident we can offer Ride Outs which are the same as Lane Rides but your coach will ride in front of you. We also offer Private Lessons, our Senior Coaches are ideal to book with for regaining your confidence and brushing up on those rusty skills. If in doubt of what to book, give us a call on 02086570832 to discuss your individual requirements and we will be able to find a suitable session.
Having Regular Lessons – Can Walk, Trot and Canter

This category is for those who have been having regular lesson and are happy and confident riding independently in walk, trot and canter. To start with, you will need a one to one Private Lesson with one of our Senior Coaches who will be able to assign you a KEC Level Grade. From there you will be able to either continue with Private Lessons or to join Group Lessons of your level. For those who would like to hack, we have hacking direct from the yard, initially you will need a 45min Assessment Hack where our Hack Coach can get to know you and your riding and advise you on what Hacking is best for you going forwards. for those who would like to take part in caring for the horses as well as riding, we offer Pony Club on a Monday evening from 16:30 - 18:30 (age 6+) as well as some non-ridden activities such as Adult Saddle Club (18+) and Equine Behaviour Sessions (18+). During the school holidays we will also run Pony Days, Activity Mornings and Games afternoons so keep an eye out for our holiday schedule release and upcoming events.
Professional Rider / Has Ridden Competitively

This category is for those who are riding regularly and confidently at a high level, they have ridden competitively and are confident to handle a variety of different situations. Initially, you should start with a one to one Private Lesson with one of our Senior Coaches where they will be able to give you a KEC Level Grade, after that you will be able to join into groups (they are level graded so you will be riding with those of your same ability). If you would like to Hack, we have some lovely scenic routes direct from the yard - you will first need to go on a 45min Assessment Hack with our Hacking Coach - Fiona - and from there she will be able to advise on which hacks are suitable going forwards. For Advanced riders, we run a Dressage Series each year which you can sign up for which includes dressage demonstrations and a chance for you to represent Kingsmead in a competition too. During the Summer we have Cross Country riding which takes place in our Woodland and run some Jump Clinics. For those who would like to learn more about equine care and behaviour, we offer Adult Saddle Club and Equine Behaviour Sessions.
