Answering some of your Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

I can see a lot more lessons and hacks, can I book every thing I see?
You will be able to see all available lessons. Not all lessons will be suitable, so please read the lesson description. If you are new to KEC we would suggest you start by looking for PRIVATE LESSONS where your coach can assess you.

I am not sure of my skill level, important?
Upon registration you will be asked to self assess your skill level, please tick the level that best describes you.

Should I filter by experience?
NO! You will hide most of the programme. You will see many of the bookable events say “No experience”.


I don’t know what level I am.
Don't worry, if you are unsure, book a private lesson. We ask you to be honest about your riding as this helps us find the right activity and the right horse. There is a ‘lesson levels explained’ section under ‘stable’ on Hopoti where you may be able to gauge a rough idea of where you sit. If you have been riding with us for awhile, you will be able to see your level on your account under badges. You can always discuss your level with your coach, they will assess your riding each lesson. 

Are all groups based on one level?
No, many of our groups are mixed level, we also have groups specifically for adults and specifically for juniors. Please read the lesson description. If in doubt, please speak to either your coach or a member of our office team who can find out on your behalf.


Can I make my private lesson a semi private?

Yes, please call the office to do this.

 

Do you mix adult and children classes?
No - Please follow the lesson title and description (Junior or Adult).  You can opt to share your private lesson if you wish.

 

What happens if I book an unsuitable lesson?
Don’t panic we will keep an eye and will contact you to move you if you are in an unsuitable lesson.

I can see a lot of hacking, can I book any hack?
To begin with, you will need a private hack where our leader can assess you, assessment hacks are 45 minutes and one-to-one. After your assessment, our hack coach will be able to advise you on what hacks are best to book going forwards. Please call or email the office to book this.


Can I still purchase individual lessons?
Absolutely, you will be invited to buy lessons and hacks in multiples (this is quick and easy and can save you making numerous purchases) however you can still buy individual lessons.


Expiry dates on Stable Cards - what happens if I cannot use in time? 

Speak to our office team as far in advance as possible, they will be able to help you.


Can cancellations still be done online?
Yes - as long as you cancel before 48hrs you will receive a Stable Card for a similar activity. A Stable Card can be used to buy your next lessons.


Can I use my hacking Stable Card for a lesson?
Stable Cards are to be used on a 'like for like’ basis. We aim to keep flexibility so where necessary we will open the Stable Cards to include more activities.

 

How can I use a Gift Card?

To use a gift card, you will need to contact the office and they will be able to apply it for you.

How can I buy a gift voucher?

Please contact the office and they will be able to help you.

 

Waiting list:
​On Hopoti there is a 'waiting list' feature which allows you to be added into a lesson if a space becomes available.
