"There's something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man." - Winston Churchill

Horses have long been recognised as a holistic healer of human.  Their grace, compassion and undying honesty remind us of the most important elements of daily life.  Sadly, these are often neglected.

In The Company of Horses CIC,  working with Kingsmead EC, believes that by connecting with horses it is possible to rebalance and recharge.

Horses are not just for riding, they have purpose beyond our basic comprehension.  There is something so pacifying about the presence of a horse that sooths the soul and the body; or put another way “there is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man”(Winston Churchill).

ITCH has a remit to provide education and outreach work.

As part of this remit ITCH aims to support the emotional, physical and social wellbeing, of anyone who would benefit, by offering easy, affordable access to horses and equine education at Kingsmead Equestrian Centre.

ITCH and Kingsmead are here for the benefit of everyone.  We aim to broaden the opportunities available to all members of society – wholly inclusive of race, culture, religion, ability and disability.

Based at Kingsmead Equestrian Centre, ITCH will provide a place where people can connect with horses in a unique manner – on the ground or in the saddle - helping them to realise a side of themselves that may otherwise have remained dormant.

Our ethos means we will also enhance the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of the horses in our care, showing the same level of compassion to equines and humans alike.
