Kingsmead, Our Ethos

Here at Kingsmead we offer a combination of horsemanship styles. By focusing on the needs of our horses and how they learn, we seek to give every 'rider' a deeper understanding of the horses, as we believe a good relationship and clear communication between horse and rider is the key to success.

We welcome riders of all ages and abilities, offering a wide range of non ridden and ridden activities giving everyone who comes to Kingsmead a chance to get to know our horses in their world. Our coaches offer progressive lessons and work closely with our clients helping them achieve their goals and enjoy their riding. Our primary aim is for both riders and horses to feel happy and confident; from these foundations everything else can grow.

Our all inclusive ethos caters for any rider; we pride ourselves on creating a welcoming environment combined with a tailored learning programme. We have chosen not to impose an arbitrary weight limit for our riders. (Click here to find out more).

We have an increasing number of adult riders, some starting out for the first time and others returning to riding after a long break, we have a range of horses to suit every adult and have a number of adult only groups at the weekend.

At Kingsmead we offer an innovative approach to riding where by riders can gain a deeper understanding about their emotions and how they impact their horses and riding. Coupled with this you will learn about the emotional state of horses and how we can support them. Working this way can enable nervous riders to see how they are influencing their horse both when ridden and on the ground, whilst our more confident riders can explore ways to get the best from their mount.

We are Licenced by Tandridge Council, who awarded us the maximum 5* rating.  You can therefore be confident that our horses, their care and well being are properly managed.  Furthermore, our health and safety procedures are robust and we have the appropriate systems in place to support our clients and staff.
